Local Leaders: A Year of Prayer in the Macedonian Church

Will this be the year we grow in our relationship with God?

Year of Prayer 2027 is an invitation to Macedonian pastors, leaders, and everyday believers to see God do a new thing in our nation as we come together and pray.

We're inviting the global Body of Christ to join you in your love for your neighbors and city. What will the Father do as the national church gives a year to abiding in Him?

Here are some ideas for how to engage in the Year of Prayer as a Macedonian church leader or intercessor:

• Designate time for prayer as a church. Set aside 5 minutes in your service, once a month, to pray for specific needs or people across the country. Share the prayer guide with your small groups and encourage them to pray each month this next year for specific things.

• Start (or restart) a new prayer meeting: Include the needs of the country and her people as a regular topic alongside the needs of your own community.

• Join or host a regular prayer meeting in your church or home. If you want to, you can list it as a "living room of prayer" here and have others join you - or keep it private to a small group of friends. The goal is more people praying more!

• Make a specific emphasis in your group of friends to grow in your relationship with God through prayer and worship. This can be creative - read a book on prayer together, attend a prayer event/conference, set aside part of your small group meeting to worship, meet for an early coffee at someone's house once a week (or once a month) for prayer, or go away to one of Macedonia's many monasteries or mountain houses for a weekend to be quiet with the Father.

• Walk and pray through your neighborhood or areas near you. Because you'll remain after short term teams leave, you'll have the privilege of seeing God answer prayers in a specific area. Go in with eyes of faith and see what he'll inspire you to ask and intercede for!

• Welcome visiting prayer teams who need local eyes and local wisdom. These teams will often need a "host" who can be a point of contact as they set up their visit, talk through things to be aware of, and answer the call when they need clarity or are stuck. You have local insight they need, and they would love to hear your story.

• Think about and share ways visiting teams can be helpful. They'd love to serve your church, and often are equipped to lead worship, share a message, or assist with a ministry outreach project. If you can dream it, let's let the global church know about it in 2027.
