Healing deep ethnic wounds, reviving the Church, and drawing this Balkan nation back to God

The Balkan nation of N Macedonia is like few other places on earth. It is small but geographically strategic, both in the physical and spiritual realms. Its rugged valleys have been the bloody military highway for rebel groups and invading armies moving between Europe and Asia since the days of Alexander the Great. Its mountains, the monastic retreat of mystic monks and scholars who invented alphabets to communicate the gospel.

After surviving millennia of foreign dominance - from Roman control to Nazi domination - this young, independent country is still battling to survive. Longing to be accepted as unique, Jesus is calling them by name.

There are 9 classified "unreached" or "minimally reached" people groups in Macedonia, including the majority Macedonian population. Some 8 of these 9 groups are Muslim.

Based on current statistics, you would have to meet 638 people before you encountered one follower of Jesus. Unless something changes, most citizens will never meaningfully interact with a believer in their lifetime, and entire regions of the country are cut off from the great news of the Kingdom through geography and culture.
